Deck Rail
By: Denis Sherlock ~ 5/16/2013

DeckRail05132013.jpgA nice way to make an ageing deck look new again is to replace the decking and hand rail.  In this case the decking was composite so there was no need to change it.  The customer did have some aging wood benches and planter boxes in place of a rail, so we removed them replaced a few boards so you could not tell something was removed.

DeckRail2_05132013.jpgThen added a Cable style hand rail, which consisted of Pressure treated post, five runs or 1/8 inch cable and a nice 2x6 tight knot cedar top cap.  A nice way to add a modern touch to your deck. If your deck dose not have a rail the city code will require it if the deck is over 18 inches off the ground. in addition to the rail we also replace some fascia boards and skirting around the deck, and Stained the top Cap of the rail.
