Plaster Hoods are gaining popularity with designers and new custom home builders. We had the pleasure of doing one for a customer in Kenmore. A Plaster hood is a new trend alternative to the stainless steel hood, They give a look as to be built into the wall, and can be framed with wood and covered with plaster, stucco, cement or this one was smooth finish Gypsum/drywall mud. This hood was then painted to match existing walls.
A mechanical fan unit can be purchased and the hood built to fit whatever insert unit is chosen. These inserts have all of the features of a stainless steel range hood including multi speed fans and lights. In addition to building this hood, We also removed some upper cabinets and replaced them with custom counter to ceiling cabinets with an appliance garage with pull out tray and power outlets inside.
A tile backsplash was added, as well as some updated lighting, as you will see in the before and after pictures.
