We do a lot of bathrooms, I think everyone knows that, but perhaps people do not know that we also do, and are happy to do ADA and Senior friendly bathrooms.
This latest one we did, we removed a fiberglass tub/shower one piece and installed a zero clearance shower, meaning there is no curb or transition. This can be tricky and usually a little bit more labor intensive because often the framing needs to be lowered to get the tile flush and sloped down to a drain. Not having a curb can sometimes allow for a little bit of water to splash out on the bathroom floor under the curtain so it is important that the rest of the floor is also waterproofed.
This Shower got extra framing in the walls to support grab bars and plumbed for a shower wand system with an extra long hose. In addition to the shower we also removed the bathroom door and re-framed it to fit a 36'' door, increased from a 30''. We removed the vanity cabinet and installed a wall mounted sink for easier access for this person to be able to get a little closer to the sink and a no touch sensor faucet. Another modern amenity, A sensor/ toilet was installed, that flushes with just a wave of the hand. Also equipped with a built-in Bidet.
Those are all the fun/ important items, however like all other bathrooms it had its share of trim, painting, drywall/texture blending, and behind the scenes plumbing and electrical work.
